Orientation Class – NYC Winter 2015
International New Student Orientation: Friday, January 9th 2015, 10:30AM in One Main
General New Student Orientation: Friday, January 9th 2015, 11:00AM in One Main
Please note that if you will be a new student attending the Strasberg Institute beginning with the Winter 2015 Session, it is mandatory that you attend the General New Student Orientation.
Also please note that if you will be a new international student attending the Strasberg Institute with a Form I-20/F-1 visa issued for the Strasberg Institute, it is mandatory that you attend the International New Student Orientation and the Mandatory General Student Orientation.
At Orientation, the following areas of work will be covered to prepare you for your first acting class:
1. RELAXATION WORK: Lecture/Demonstration. Students will be taken through the process step by step, with the teacher explaining how relaxation exercises are to be done and why they are important.
2. SENSORY WORK: A short description and explanation of the sensory exercises, with a brief demonstration of how the exercises are to be worked on at home. The student will be instructed to prepare the first exercise for his/her first acting class.
3. SCENE WORK: Students will be given the Simple Scene List and will be guided to start looking for scenes they would like to work on for class.
All incoming students must sign up for one orientation class by calling the Registrar’s Office at (212) 533-5500.
Intensive Program students must call the Front Desk of the Institute to make a registration appointment, as their curriculum has already been set.
